The 'Small Grants' Program: how much communities will receive for the development of social services.


The Ministry of Social Policy of Ukraine has joined the Supervisory Board of the Project providing financial assistance through small grants for social services to families with children and children or early intervention services in Ukraine.
This project is a unique opportunity for both NGOs and charities that already provide social services, as well as for those that are just planning to engage in this. The maximum grant amount is 60,000 US dollars.
Project Proposals
- Entering the social services market - becoming an official service provider in your community and developing your own organization.
- Grant administration and compliance with state standards - training and practical experience in providing quality social services.
- Support from the ISAR Unity team - expert consultations at all stages of the organization’s development and grant implementation.
- Cooperation with government authorities - the opportunity to receive support and influence the development of social policy.
- Funding for the purchase of equipment and technology - resources to improve the material base and effective operations.
- The opportunity to influence policy - participation in the processes of forming mechanisms for purchasing social services at the state level.
- Funding for social services - resources to ensure operations, improve personnel qualifications, and training.
For the first Time in Ukraine's history, a supervisory board is being engaged for the implementation of the project, which includes representatives of government authorities, international organizations, and civil society.
The 'Small Grants' project aims to support and develop social services at the level of territorial communities. Among them are forming the resilience of children and their families, daytime care for children with disabilities, support during inclusive education, temporary respite for parents of children with disabilities, social support for families in difficult life circumstances, transitional supported living for orphans and children deprived of parental care, and early intervention.
The project involves communities from several regions of Ukraine, and several dozen providers of social services will receive grants for delivering services and enhancing their capacity. At the first stage, 261 communities have been selected to participate in the project.
The project consists of two stages: selection of communities and a competition for social service providers. It is planned that services will begin to be provided in the selected communities as early as June 2025.
