The best chess player disqualified from the World Championship for wearing jeans.

Norwegian chess player Carlsen has been banned from participating in the World Rapid Chess Championship due to a dress code violation
Judges noticed that Norwegian Magnus Carlsen was dressed in jeans, which is against the dress code rules. He was asked to change his outfit between games, but he refused. Therefore, he was removed from the rapid chess tournament.
Carlsen reported that he decided to change his outfit the next day, but the judges continuously demanded that he change immediately. This conflict became a 'matter of principle' for the Norwegian, so he will not participate in either the rapid or blitz formats. The blitz chess championship will begin on December 30.
This tournament is taking place in New York from December 26 to 31. It is noteworthy that the president of the International Chess Federation is Arkady Dvorkovich, a former deputy prime minister of Russia.
In September, Carlsen received an award from the International Chess Federation as the most outstanding chess player of the last century. After that, he delivered a speech in support of Ukraine.
Ukraine expressed concern over the possible restoration of the rights of the chess federations of Russia and Belarus within the International Chess Federation. Ukraine is prepared to impose personal sanctions against FIDE President Arkady Dvorkovich if such decisions are made.
