The IOC is considering Russia's return to the Olympics.


The newly elected president of the International Olympic Committee, Kirsty Coventry, stated that she is against banning countries from participating in the Olympic Games due to military conflicts and wants to initiate negotiations about Russia's possible return to these competitions.
Coventry expressed this information in an interview with Sky News, as reported by 'Glavcom'.
I am against it, but I think each situation needs to be considered.
Coventry expressed a desire to create a working group that will develop specific policies and guidelines for decision-making during conflicts.
We have terrible conflicts in Africa, and we cannot escape from them.
Coventry emphasized the committee's responsibility to protect athletes during the Olympic Games and ensure their safety, but also expressed the opinion that all athletes should be represented at these competitions.
After the elections, Coventry became the new president of the IOC, receiving over 50% of the votes in the first round.
The Ukrainian sky witnessed a terrorist drone attack from Russia, while the IOC is considering the issue of Russia's return to the Olympic Games.
Zaporizhzhia became a target of this attack, which resulted in the death of one woman and injuries to five others.
