President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky announced that a meeting of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief's Stavka was held on August 15, 2024.
The meeting discussed the situation at the front, arms supplies, prisoner exchanges, and legislative initiatives.
The situation in the East and South of Ukraine remains difficult but controllable. The main efforts are aimed at stopping the enemy's advance towards Toretsk and Pokrovsk. - said the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi.
It was also reported about the advancement of Ukrainian troops in the Kursk region. Currently, a military commandant's office has been opened, which will ensure law and order and the needs of the local population.
Major General Moskalyov headed the military commandant's office in the Kursk region. Within a day, Ukrainian troops advanced another 0.5-1.5 km in certain directions. In total, they have already advanced 35 km in depth, taking control of 1150 sq. km of territory and 82 settlements.
