In Ukraine, mobilization may be allowed after 60: what is being proposed.

Ukrainians who have reached the age of 60 may assist the Armed Forces of Ukraine on a contractual basis. The Verkhovna Rada has registered a draft law that provides for this possibility.
The Secretary of the Committee of the Verkhovna Rada on National Security, Defense and Intelligence, Roman Kostenko, is the initiator of the draft law.
According to the draft law, citizens who are 60 years old can sign a one-year contract for military service during martial law with the consent of the unit commander. Officers aged 60+ must also obtain additional consent from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Kostenko emphasized that many motivated and experienced individuals want to help in the war situation, but current legislation makes this impossible.
The initiative has been supported by 36 deputies of the Committee of the Verkhovna Rada on National Security, Defense and Intelligence, as well as the public, Maria Berlinska, representatives of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine and the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
This is an important step to involve more people in the defense of the country, especially under the forced circumstances of martial law. It will allow the potential of experienced Ukrainians who want to actively join the struggle for victory to be utilized.
