Ukrainian Energy System in Winter: Expert Reveals Critical Temperature Threshold.

The Ukrainian energy system is ready for winter only in the case of relatively warm weather.
This was reported by the expert of the Institute of Energy Strategies Yuri Korolchuk on Kyiv24 TV channel.
According to the expert, the energy system can function normally if the average nightly temperature does not drop below 3-5 degrees of frost. However, when the temperature drops to -10 degrees, the duration of power outages can reach 10-12 hours a day.
Korolchuk noted that the situation is complicated by insufficient quality repairs of equipment. "An operational repair was effectively carried out. There were no major repairs. There was no Time and financial capability," the expert explained.
Korolchuk paid special attention to the condition of the "Ukrenergo" substations, some of which were damaged by shelling at the end of August. "They also have not been fully restored. And the problem has remained since 22-23 years," he added.
The expert also expressed doubts about the possibility of promptly using new equipment received as humanitarian aid. "This does not mean that it can be used immediately. That's the problem," Korolchuk emphasized.
