Ukraine competed in the first final of the Olympics: competition results.


The 2024 Olympic Games have started in Paris, where the first medals have already been awarded. One of them was earned by the Ukrainian divers.
This sport featured synchronized diving from a three-meter springboard among women. Our athletes Anna Pysmenska and Viktoria Kesar got the opportunity to participate in the Olympics thanks to their fifth place at the 2024 World Championship.
Final stage
In this final, 8 duos from China, USA, Great Britain, Germany, France, Australia, Italy, and Ukraine competed. All tandems had the same difficulty coefficients, except for the French duo. Therefore, the execution skill of each of the five dives was decisive in this final. After the first part with two dives having a fixed coefficient of 2.0, Kesar and Pysmenska took seventh place.
Unfortunately, our athletes could not consistently perform the subsequent dives, so they finished in seventh position with a score of 251.37 points. The gold medal was won by China, silver by the USA, and the bronze by Great Britain.
Earlier, the spokesperson of the National Olympic Committee of Ukraine, Maksym Cheberyaka, announced that Ukrainian athletes received a warning regarding their behavior towards Russian and Belarusian athletes competing under a neutral flag. According to the spokesperson, athletes in the Olympic village do not know all the details of the opening ceremony for security reasons.
It was also reported that Ukraine is represented in almost all sports at the Olympics, except for team sports. The football team is competing in the Games for the first Time since independence.
