The UN Secretary-General reacted to Russia's use of a new missile.

The Secretary-General of the UN calls on 'all parties' in the Russian war against Ukraine to take urgent steps to reduce tensions in the situation, as everything is going in the wrong direction.
This was stated by the spokesperson for the UN Secretary-General, Stéphane Dujarric, commenting on Russia's use of a new type of ballistic missile in the war with Ukraine.
'This is yet another worrying event. Everything is developing in the wrong direction. We want all parties to take urgent steps to reduce the tension in the situation to protect civilians and not attack civilian facilities and critical civilian infrastructure,'
he said.
Dujarric emphasized that the UN is striving for 'the cessation of this conflict in accordance with the resolutions of the General Assembly, international law, and territorial integrity.'
Journalists also asked him for a comment regarding the remarks of Ukraine's ambassador to the UK, former Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valerii Zaluzhnyi about involving Russia's authoritarian allies in the war against Ukraine, which, in his opinion, could be considered the beginning of World War III.
Dujarric stated that the UN does not comment on 'such hyperbolic statements' and added, 'We remain focused on reducing tensions and ending this conflict.'
