Alarming statistics from the State Emergency Service: 98 people, including eight children, have drowned in June.

In June of this year, 98 people have drowned in Ukraine's bodies of water, including eight children, reported the State Emergency Service. Just in the last week, nine people have already lost their lives due to water, among them two children.
According to rescuers, the drowning of a 13-year-old boy in the Kharkiv region is one of the most tragic events. The boy disappeared while swimming in the river, and his body was found underwater.
It is reported that since the beginning of 2025, 467 people have already drowned, including 28 children.
Most of these tragedies occur due to the violation of simple safety rules: swimming in dangerous places, being in the water while intoxicated, or without adult supervision. Rescuers urge citizens to be very careful while relaxing on the banks of bodies of water.
In most cases, people drown due to their own carelessness. While near the water, be extremely attentive and responsible!
Such statistical data is an alarming signal and reminds us of the importance of following safety rules while relaxing near bodies of water. Carelessness and recklessness can lead to tragic consequences, so follow all recommendations from rescuers and take care of your life and the lives of your loved ones.
Ukrainian rescuers are concerned about the growing number of cases of people drowning in bodies of water. They emphasize the need for responsible behavior during water activities and adherence to safety rules to avoid tragedies and grief among those on vacation. Water safety is primarily the responsibility of each of us.
