Trump expects 'very good proposals' for resolving the war in Ukraine.

US President Donald Trump has first stated that Russian President Vladimir Putin is one of the culprits in the Russo-Ukrainian war. He named Putin as 'number one' among those responsible for this conflict. This was reported by CBS News journalist Jennifer Jacobs, referencing Trump's statements made in the Oval Office on April 14.
Trump stated: 'Biden and Zelensky could have stopped this war, but Putin should never have started it. Millions of people have died because of three people. I am specifically talking about three people. Let's say Putin is 'number one'. Then, Biden, who had no idea what he was doing. And then Zelensky.'
As Trump continues to call the conflict 'Biden's war', he emphasizes that he is trying to stop this war. He compared the situation in Ukraine to the Civil War in the US, noting that he has seen satellite images of the fighting.
Trump now adds Putin to the list of those to blame for the war on Ukraine. 'Biden could have stopped it, and Zelenskyy could have stopped it, and Putin should have never started it,' Trump said in Oval. 'Millions of people dead because of three people. During a meeting with El Salvador's President Nayib Bukele, Trump made harsh remarks about the president of Ukraine, accusing him of inappropriate actions.
Trump stated: 'When you start a war, you have to be sure you can win it. You don’t start a war with an opponent who is 20 times stronger than you and then hope to get a few missiles.' This was Trump's response to Zelensky's request for Patriot systems.
The American leader also said he expects 'very good proposals' regarding the situation in Ukraine, but did not specify from whom.
When asked by a journalist about Russia's invasion of Ukraine, Trump said: 'The mistake was that they started this war at all... During my entire presidency, Putin didn’t even mention this... Biden should have prevented its start.'
These statements contradict the tone in which Trump had previously spoken, as he avoided criticizing Putin and placed the blame for the conflict solely on Biden and Zelensky. On the same day, Trump posted on social media, calling the Russo-Ukrainian war 'Biden's war' and stated: 'I just came here, and during my four years of presidency, I had no issues avoiding this war.'
In this message, Trump also stated that 'President Putin and everyone else respects your president' and again repeated his unfounded claims about the 2020 presidential election being rigged.
