Thousands of Russians under threat of encirclement: AFU breakthrough in a new section of the Kursk region, - Forbes.

The Ukrainian Armed Forces managed to break through the Russian defenses on the border with the Kursk region and advance several kilometers into Russian territory. This was reported by the Khorne UAV unit.
According to Forbes analyst David Axe, this breakthrough was more successful than expected. Despite the fact that the AFU broke through the Russian defenses, they faced stiff resistance from Russian forces near the breakthrough. The Russian authorities announced the successful repulsion of the attack.
"Reporters who quoted the Kremlin's statement - "hysterics lacking information, or paid pro-Russian propagandists", - said the Khorne group.
The Ukrainian Khorne unit published a video showing the successful breakthrough. It depicts an armored column passing through the breach and moving towards the town of Vesele, located behind Russian lines.
The Forbes analyst noted that it seems the AFU reached the southern outskirts of Vesele. This creates a threat to Russian troops who might be encircled.
It is not yet known how this operation will change the course of the conflict. At best, it may halt the Russian counteroffensive to the east. However, if the information provided by the Russian authorities turns out to be true, it could have negative consequences for Ukraine. The invasion of Vesele, although initially successful, has already led to the retreat of Ukrainian troops.
It is worth noting that scientists at ISW analyzed Russia's counteroffensive in the Kursk region.
