TCC employee caught trading humanitarian vehicles: faces 5 to 7 years.


Detained a TCC employee who was trading humanitarian vehicles for the Armed Forces of Ukraine
In Ternopil region, a 46-year-old TCC employee was identified and detained for trading humanitarian vehicles intended for the Armed Forces of Ukraine. This information was reported by the Specialized Prosecutor's Office in the Defense Sector of the Western Region.
It was established that the suspect was selling vehicles that were brought to Ukraine through charitable foundations but were supposed to be transferred free of charge to military formations. The TCC employee actively sought clients among military personnel, offering to sell "Opel Frontera", "Jeep Grand Cherokee" and "Nissan X-Trail" for $13,200 each. All these vehicles were stored near the TCC.
"Law enforcement officers documented the criminal activities of the military man and detained him in accordance with Art. 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine. Prosecutors have currently filed a motion in court to select a preventive measure in the form of detention. The pre-trial investigation is conducted by investigators of the Main Department of the National Police in the Ternopil region based on the materials of the Department of Military Counterintelligence of the SBU"
For this crime, the court's verdict can be from 5 to 7 years of imprisonment, as well as deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for three years and confiscation of property.
Preliminarily, news about the detention of the TCC employee is evidence of the effective fight against corruption in the defense sector and the strengthening of control over the distribution of humanitarian aid to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
