Students in Tbilisi went on a march to the parliament building, protesting against the election results. They held flags of Georgia and the European Union and had banners with messages that the youth of Georgia choose Europe, not Russia. Students told reporters that the «Georgian Dream» party was taking away their freedom, democracy, and right to vote.
After the parliamentary elections, Georgia announced a recount of ballots at 14% of polling stations due to concerns from independent observers. The opposition refused to recognize the election results, and the President of Georgia called for protests. She assessed the elections that were held and stated that the ruling party is a «trusted representative of Russia».
