Putin 'hid behind' Xi Jinping after Zelensky's words about the parade in Moscow.

The Kremlin quickly responded to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky's reply and announced the upcoming visit of Chinese leader Xi Jinping on May 9. Although Kyiv cannot guarantee the safety of foreign leaders, the head of the PRC still intends to participate in the celebratory events. Negotiations aimed at strengthening cooperation between Russia and China are also planned during the visit.
It is also preliminarily reported that agreements aimed at developing relations between Russia and China will be signed during the meetings.
According to recent events, Vladimir Putin initially announced a temporary ceasefire until the 80th anniversary of Victory Day, but this decision was met with negative reactions from Volodymyr Zelensky. He stated that Russia uses the ceasefire only for political manipulation and does not aspire to peace. Ukraine is ready for a ceasefire but insists on a 30-day cessation of hostilities. The president emphasized that the safety of leaders at the parade in Moscow cannot be guaranteed, so the ceasefire should last 30 days if the Russians seek genuine peace.
Accordingly, some foreign guests who were invited to the celebrations in Russia have refused to visit the country due to health issues. This occurred after Zelensky's statement about the failure to ensure the security of world leaders.
