Donald Trump's team is actively negotiating with the Biden administration and Ukrainian leadership as part of an effort to end the conflict with Russia. While the meetings are focused on exchanging information, ceasefire strategies have not been discussed.
“The interaction between the Ukrainian leadership and Trump's team, including personal contacts between Zelensky and the elected U.S. president, is constructive,” sources of the publication noted.
One of the important events was the meeting of Andriy Yermak, head of the Ukrainian President's Office, with Keith Kellogg, Trump's candidate for U.S. ambassador to Ukraine. Trump's adviser, JD Vance, was also present at the meeting. The interaction between the Ukrainian leadership and Trump's team takes place in a constructive manner.
Given the skepticism of the Russian side regarding the achievement of a peace plan, it is important to consider broader security issues for Moscow, said Russian businessman Konstantin Malofeyev in an interview with the Financial Times. Nevertheless, Trump's team is likely not to support Ukraine's long-term goal of joining NATO, but is considering the possibility of providing Ukraine with security guarantees from individual alliance members.
