Ministry of Economy Simplified Access to State Assistance: Important Clarification for Banks.

The Ministry of Economy of Ukraine has sent banks an official clarification regarding the collection of personal data during the implementation of state social support programs. From now on, banks can only obtain from citizens data related to transactions associated with these programs. To provide cashback within the 'National Cashback' program, banks are allowed to collect information only about purchases in Ukrainian participating stores. Banks are not allowed to require additional information about personal accounts or transactions unrelated to social payments. Citizens can open a 'National Cashback' card without unnecessary obstacles. Participation in the program is voluntary, and citizens can close the card or revoke permission for data processing at any Time.
The Ministry of Economy urged banks to review contracts and documents to ensure maximum ease of access to state support and protection of citizens' personal data.
