Macron approves new government of France, heads of Foreign and Defense Ministries retain their positions.

The President of France, Emmanuel Macron, has approved the composition of the new government during a meeting with Prime Minister François Bayrou. The Minister of Defense, Sébastien Lecornu, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Jean-Noël Barbaux, will remain in the new government. Bruno Retayau will join as Minister of the Interior and Gérald Darmanin as Minister of Justice. The new government will also include two former Prime Ministers: Manuel Valls and Élisabeth Borne. The first meeting of the government will take place on January 3.
It should be reminded that the new Prime Minister of France will be François Bayrou. The French Parliament adopted a resolution of no confidence in the previous government of Prime Minister Michel Barnier, which forced the government to resign. Macron promised to appoint a new Prime Minister within the next 48 hours.
Sébastien Lecornu, François Bayrou, and François Baroin were the main candidates for the position of Prime Minister of France during the political crisis in the country.
