EU countries demand $20 billion from "Gazprom" for undelivered gas.


Russian gas company "Gazprom" has faced lawsuits amounting to tens of billions of dollars due to breaches of gas contracts with companies from 11 European countries. The total amount of claims is €18.6 billion, or $20.6 billion.
The largest claim of €13 billion was filed by the German conglomerate Uniper, which was the main customer of "Gazprom" in Germany. In addition, companies RWE, Engie, OMV, Gasum, Eni, Europol Gaz, Net4gas, Innogy Energie, DXT Commodities, Axpo Solutions, Gasunie Transport Services, BBL Company V.O.F, ZSE Energia, Vychodoslovenska energetika, and Bulgargaz also filed claims against "Gazprom" for various amounts.
The total amount of claims against "Gazprom" exceeds its net revenue from gas sales to all external markets, according to BCS estimates.
