Europe paused sanctions against Putin before meeting with Zelensky, - Bloomberg.

European leaders postponed pressure on the US regarding new sanctions on Russia
Europe decided not to pressure the US for additional restrictive measures against Russia ahead of a potential meeting between the presidents of Ukraine and Russia in Turkey. According to Bloomberg, Washington wants to first see the results of the negotiations scheduled for Thursday before escalating sanctions pressure. So far, there is no official confirmation of Putin's participation in the meeting.
Sources report that if Putin refuses to meet with Zelensky or Russia does not agree to an immediate and unconditional ceasefire, European leaders will urge President Trump to carry out his threat regarding sanctions. In a post from May 8, Trump stated: 'The US and its partners will impose additional sanctions' if the ceasefire is not maintained.
Preparation of a new sanctions package by the European Union
The EU is actively preparing new restrictive measures against the 'shadow fleet' of Russian tankers and individuals who help circumvent energy sanctions. The document may be approved on Wednesday and officially implemented next week. The list will also include Chinese and other companies supplying Russia with components for weapons and drones.
Leaders of the United Kingdom, France, and Germany have agreed with Trump to support a 30-day ceasefire starting Monday and further sanctions in case of violations. However, Trump did not publicly confirm this plan, instead proposing a meeting in Turkey.
The American president even expressed his desire to personally join the negotiations. 'I was thinking of flying there. I don't know where I'll be on Thursday - I have so many meetings - but I was actually thinking of flying there,' he said at the White House.
Senator Lindsey Graham also announced plans to prepare legislation with tough sanctions against Russia, including a 500% tariff on Russian energy resources for third countries.
