Euroclear plans to transfer 2 billion euros of income from frozen Russian assets to the fund for Ukraine.


A large payment to the fund for Ukraine
The international depository Euroclear plans to make a second payment to the fund for Ukraine (European Fund for Ukraine) amounting to about 2 billion euros in March 2025. This information was provided by Euroclear itself.
The first payment to the fund took place in the summer of 2024 and amounted to 1.55 billion euros. Euroclear withheld 10% of the contribution as excess profit for capital and risk management requirements.
Belgium taxes
In the same year, Euroclear will pay Belgium taxes on income obtained from Russian assets. The amount of taxes will be 1.7 billion euros.
Interest on Russian assets
During 2024, about 6.9 billion euros of interest was received from the balances of cash from Russian assets that are under sanctions.
Balance of Euroclear Bank
As of the end of December 2024, the balance of Euroclear Bank was composed of 212 billion euros, of which 183 billion euros belonged to Russian assets that are under sanctions.
