Britain and the EU are preparing a partnership agreement: it also concerns Ukraine.

The United Kingdom and the European Union are preparing to sign an agreement on a 'new strategic partnership', which includes support for Ukraine's territorial integrity, adherence to the Paris Climate Agreement, and principles of free trade. This information is reported by Politico and Reuters.
According to the current document, which has already been sent to EU countries, it serves as a 'geopolitical preamble' to the new strategic partnership between Britain and the EU. Approval of this partnership is expected during the summit that will take place on May 19 in London. This summit is considered a key moment in relations between the parties after Brexit.
According to the draft dated April 25, London and Brussels plan to develop a partnership based on support for global economic stability and mutual attention to free and open trade. The document also pays great attention to Russian aggression against Ukraine, the situation in the Middle East, and issues of irregular migration.
'We reaffirmed our ongoing support for the independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity of Ukraine within its internationally recognized borders,' the draft document states. Both sides commit to providing comprehensive support to Kyiv: political, financial, economic, humanitarian, military, and diplomatic.
In the context of the situation in the Middle East, Britain and the EU support a 'permanent ceasefire in Gaza, the release of all hostages, and the provision of more humanitarian aid.'
A separate part of the document is dedicated to confirming 'multilateral cooperation', considering support for the UN Charter, the European Convention on Human Rights, and other international agreements.
Particular attention is emphasized on international development as a key component of relations between the parties, which is becoming increasingly important in light of the UK’s reduction in international aid spending and increasing defense expenditures.
Previously, the European Commission outlined a path to a Single Market for Ukraine.
