How Odesa is preparing for the New Year and Christmas holidays.

The city of Odesa has begun the installation of the main Christmas tree on Deribasivska Street, which is part of the preparations for the New Year and Christmas holidays. The height of the tree is 20 meters, and its width is 9 meters. The tree will be decorated with traditional Ukrainian ornaments and blue-yellow ribbons. The official opening is scheduled for December 6, which is St. Nicholas Day.
On St. Nicholas Day, the opening of the main Christmas tree of Odesa will take place, along with a festive concert organized by the Department of Culture, International Cooperation and European Integration. The celebration promises a concert by the Odesa Municipal Brass Band named after O. Salika, as well as performances by students of creative institutions of the city. Festive events are also planned in various municipal institutions, including the zoo.
Due to the introduction of martial law and curfew, there will be no mass street celebrations on New Year's Eve.
Unlike Vinnytsia, where the main Christmas tree has not been erected in the central park for the third year in a row, Odesa continues the tradition of celebrating Christmas and the New Year with bright festive decorations and concerts.
